Calling All Car Enthusiasts

The Russo and Steele Collector Automobile Auction was in town for the week and so my man and I spent a couple of hours drooling over rare and expensive cars.

Here are some shots of the day…

Worn and Torn

I have now decided to do a photo whenever the heck I want and will just keep numbering them for fun until I reach 1,000. HA! I wonder how long that will take me!

I guess I need to do my flippy flopp-eees. I got these in Hawaii and they are about ready to give. I’ve hiked, walked, biked, showered, traveled to foreign lands and many other things with these and they are so perfect. How can I ever replace them!? Just kidding. I’m going back to Hawaii for good so it shouldn’t be too hard to find another wonderful pair to traipse around in.

So dirty!

7/1000 : Look at that wear and tear! G L O R I O U S.

Oh, did you ask why I am going back to Hawaii? I am going back for many reasons. Here’s a list and in no particular order :

1. My man!

2. Um, hello??? Didn’t I say it’s Hawaii? I LOVE HAWAII.

3. School. HPU. Entrepreneurial studies. (Now if I can only learn to say and spell entrepreneurial correctly…) This is probably one of the biggest reasons. After finding out that I would have to pay a year out of pocket for AAU even with all the classes I have completed and even taking two of their classes while I was still in the Navy is not appealing and all my classes that I did take were at HPU so BAM. Thank you GOD that I am not having to start over and should be able to graduate in under two years and even study abroad if I wanted to. I guess I should not have assumed that all schools have a regular four year program because AAU does not. I am still going to pursue photography and I am still going to open up my business. My ultimate goal is to become a wedding photographer. I need a lot of work to be the best and I look forward to the challenge.

I’m counting down the days until sunny Oahu. I can’t wait for Macky’s, Matsumoto’s Shave Ice, Haleiwa Eats, Ted’s Bakery, Pizza Truck, sunsets with my man, snorkeling, hiking, surfing, the ocean, sand getting everywhere, being barefoot and walking into Foodland on the North Shore, seeing the crazies up on the North Shore, seeing my good friend Caroline, and making many more! Oh my goodness I am so happy!!

Navy Boots

We had a garage sale today and got rid of quite a bit of our junk. It’s awesome because my boyfriend and I made some mad $money$ ! This is great because I made back enough to pay for the juicer I bought yesterday. THANK GOODNESS. I also have leftover moneys to stock up on fruits and veggies. It’s chow time!

I have my navy boots in the garage sale but they didn’t sell today. I might have better luck tomorrow. My boyfriend stylized this shoot. :)

CK Silver Sandals

I guess all of my shoes have a story. Here’s a little one that goes along with my Calvin Klein Silver Sandals…

I first saw these shoes in a magazine and it was probably in something thought provoking like Cosmo or Glamour. :) I was twenty and I had never ever had an urge like this. I desperately needed to find these shoes and get them. I mean, I was DREAMING about them. I researched the internet for them and I had no luck. All I knew was the brand but I couldn’t get them because they were in some store called Nordstrom and they didn’t have that store in Hawaii… *sidenote- this was 2007 and they now have this funny store called Nordstrom.* The reason why I remember when I got these shoes is because my mom came out to Hawaii to visit me and my 21st! birthday was approaching quickly so she wanted to know what I wanted for my birthday. I told her nothing but one day after a beach session in Waikiki we were strolling in and out of the shops by the beach and we went into Macy’s. I FOUND THE SHOES FROM THE MAGAZINE!!! Woooow! I said, “I’ll take those for my birthday.” I tried them on and was immediately enamored with them. I had never had anything like these before…so of course, I got two pairs in different colors. Here’s the first:

The identical pair in style but not color will be showcased at a later date.

On a different note: I’m starting up a juicing diet and my supporting boyfriend decided to join me as well. I bought a juicer and pestered my awesome friend Caroline for info about how she was doing it. People say I don’t need to lose weight but I think I’ve gained a lot more than a few pounds since leaving Hawaii due to my inactive lifestyle and cookie addiction. I’m excited to try it since Cali is full of fresh fruits and veggies and this means my man and I will be healthier too. We’re going to watch the documentary, “Fat Sick and Nearly Dead” tonight and I hear it’s streaming on Netflix if you all wanna check it out. The only other time I tried a diet in my life was probably about two years ago and it was the Paleo one…that lasted a week. My ginger friend ate a Reese’s PB cup with a Twix on top of it at work in front of me while I was on my diet and my heart literally broke and I could feel the tears coming to my eyes.

My goal is to get healthier and start craving fruits and veggies. *And hopefully lose a MILLION POUNDS!!!* J/k about that last part!

Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend!

Indian Beads

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE everything and anything that is beaded. I love the Indian look and perhaps it’s because I am part American Indian. THAT. Or, it must be because I love long hair, flowing dresses and skirts, colorful patterns, feathers, and leather.

Maybe I should do my purses next because my mom gave me an amazing white leather purse with fringe that she said just screamed my name. I love my mom!

Anyway…the picture is a diptych to show you where I took the photo! I went for a bike ride today that inspired me to get my beach cruiser fixed. I haven’t ridden it since Hawaii!

Michael Kors

I don’t know what it is about his shoes but I absolutely love almost all of them. I got these on sale at Macy’s about a year ago. If you don’t know by now, I hate HATE paying full price and pretty much refuse to do it unless it’s for something that I would be super sad I didn’t have. It’d have to be camera gear and I do have to pay regular price for that since you get what you pay for and nothing really goes on sale there especially lenses.

Anywho, these babies are broken in so well and I can even dance while wearing them! Also, they make me feel like a super model.

P.S. It’s kind of hard taking a picture of your own feet. I had to put something in front of the camera to focus and then take it away and stand in the exact spot. Took me five tries to get something I liked.

Happy Hump Day!

Gizeh Birkenstocks

Next up are my first pair of “real” Birkenstocks. I got them while I was in studying in Korea in the summer of 2009. These weren’t the exact pair I wanted but this was the only size that would fit me and I REALLY REALLY wanted the gizeh style. I remember seeing foreign girls at the university wearing them and I just had to get me some! So I did. Foreign chicks make everything look hot, right? Yup.

Here they are. Worn in and still fully functional.

Now I wanna get more! Perhaps I shouldn’t focus on shoes. OMG. Shews.

Shoes!

Where to start? Where to start? I guess over…

Restarting project 365. I missed two days and then just stopped caring to post even though I was still shooting. Eeks.

Let me begin again. I am going to eventually take a picture of all my shoes- this should take about a month and a half of my year long project I guess but I have reduced my shoe collection by getting rid of my Navy boots and some really old flippy flops! Am I the only with this many shoes? My boyfriend thinks I have a problem but a girl needs to have enough shoes to cover her bases.

(Side note) This should be an interesting portion of my project 365 because with shoes, the wear and tear can give you some perspective on my fashion and my personality and even where I’ve been.

First up, are my cowgirl boots. It’s funny how I’ve changed over the years. My mom made me wear cowgirl boots growing up and especially when I got older, they weren’t the pretty kind. Plain kinds. Brown kinds. Pointy to the hurting kinds. Kinds with horse manure on them. (I’m kidding on that last one…sorta.) Not the frilly kind that are in style nowadays. Like most kids, I fought my mom not to wear them and most of the time I got away with it. Guess what, Mom? You were right; I’d love to have any kind of cowgirl boots I can get my feet in! In fact, the last time I went home, my mission was to find a pair. I scrolled and scoured many posting on Craigslist but they were still too expensive to my liking. I rummaged through Goodwill and none were my size. :( This was in Kansas by golly! I was still on the lookout when a couple of my photog buddies and I went to a Goodwill outside of San Francisco and to my surprise I found a pair of cowgirl boots! I was so excited and happy! They are a smidgen too big but that’s what thick socks are for!

P.S. They have a funny old lady smell to them but I still like them!

P. S. S. I have been practicing line dancing lessons via youtube. I absolutely love the Copperhead Road song by Steve Earle and it’s the style where they are stomping and kicking their feet! SO. MUCH. FUN. *Smile*

The Manual

I’m taking the time to read from start to finish my Nikon D90 manual. I’ve read parts here and there when I had to figure something out for class. The first couple of pages are “For Your Safety”. I’m wearing a grin because I should have read this page as soon as I got it since I have already broken two of these rules many, many times by “Viewing the sun through the viewfinder…” and “Sunlight focused into the camera when the sun is in or close to the frame could cause fire.” I am accident prone but so far I can still see relatively well and I haven’t burnt my hands or a subject with my camera. Maybe I don’t need to read my manual!!

I’ll start up another photography project in the beginning of August. Keeping myself saturated in photography will only make me mo’ bettah, yeah?

Ummm Soooo Yeah…

I’ve been bad. I didn’t do a photo for two days in a row last week…and now I’m not sure what I should do. Start over? Hmmmm. I guess that’s what I’ll do. Hahaha.
